SCMTME Week 1B:
Sequencer = for computer music (came in earlier) but didn't do audio. Only electronic instruments.
DAW = Digital Audio Workstation (replaced multi track recorders) Recorder on PCs as audio files (aiff, mp3, etc)
In the last 10 years, Sequencer and DAW merged. ProTools is industry standard now. In every studio.
Nowadays Sequencer and DAW are talked together
Green= midi (software instruments) - rather than being actual music, it's an information about music
advantage of midi is that each note can be altered or pitched. Instrument can be changed as well.
